Seven useful SEO tips for beginners in Blogging

There are several steps to ensure that your blog lands on the first page of a search engine results. In this post I’ll be explaining some simple rules which you should consider while you are designing and adding content to your blog if you really want to get the best results:

Rule #1: Learn to speak the language that search engine understands (Proper HTML & CSS)
When you create your blog, make sure that your template complies with W3C Standards. Use proper CSS and XHTML for page to make the pages light and easier to download, remember that no one wants to wait for your site when they can browse the competitive sites at a much faster. If at all possible, try to make your website accessible through mobiles and tablets, as a lot of people now surf internet through their hand held devices.  The ability to access your site through mobile phone is vital for those who search while out on the go; these are the new potential customers that you want to grab.

Rule#2:What’s there in the name’ is not true for WWW!!!
If possible, try to put the keywords in your domain name and URL; for instance: http://cheap-tablet.com/buy.html.  Don’t make it very immense or complex and make sure that it is related to your business. Keyword rich domain names and URLs are great for search engine optimization and tend to rank better.  Try to go for top level names like youname.com rather than free sub domains like myname.mastername.com

Rule #3: Obviously Content is King
Your blog should have proper content to be indexed by search engine bot. Try to add a sufficient amount of text to your article and not just images or videos.

While using images and videos on your website, name them using “keywords” to help the search engines are able to read them as well.

Rule #4: Describe your page in titles and headings precisely
Make the titles and headings of your blog articles appealing while using keywords. The keyword should be used in the first main header, which should also provide a description about the blog or post. Your blog post title should be associated entirely to the content of the post; otherwise you will attract the wrong visitors to your blog.

Rule #5: Design websites for humans
Do not keyword-stuff your website. Make sure that the keywords look ordinary in the text and do not just stuff them in where they make no sense to people. Remember that articles are written for humans not search engines. Keep this in mind and add relevant tags and labels to your blog that can help your visitors to navigate to related post as this is their true purpose.

Rule #6: Don’t forget the map to help the bots
If you want the search engine spiders to index your blog, always have a sitemap present. If possible provide a link to the sitemap in footer. Use online tools to submit the sitemap to major search engines.

Rule #7: Make high-quality acquaintances in blogosphere
Get quality back links to your blog. A “backlink” means putting a link to your website on other relevant websites. Always try to get superior and related relevant back-links from authority websites & blogs using comments, guest posts etc. back to your blog for the most dominant impact.
